I can’t say enough good things about this mix. It has been working nearly every night lately, and it’s engaging to listen if you’re awake as well! I love the Orb and this is my favorite thing they’ve done in a while. So, relax and throw this in your headphones, close your eyes and see if this helps ease you into sleepytime. Enjoy~

i think it’s getting to the point where no matter how much or little i sleep, i’m still always tired. not a day goes by where my eyes don’t ache, my muscles aren’t sore, my attention’s not all there, and i’m not completely sluggish. this gets so old so quickly.

Up way too late last night, up early this morning. Diet Pepsi has animated my bones. Everything is grating, nails on chalkboard, annoying me. People I like are making me cringe, toes curl, fists and jaw clenched. Why is everything making me mad? Sometimes it feels like it’s not because I’m tired but because everybody is going out of their way to make me angry. Why are you doing that annoying thing? What business is it of yours? Stop fucking talking. Leave me alone. What the fuck!?! … Oh. Maybe I should sleep. I get like that when I’m hungry but it’s more of a dazed, glassy eyed, push people outta my way to get to the food, best gang way! kinda annoyed. I’m not at that irrational point yet but if I don’t nap soon there the grouch will be in full effect.

I woke up way too early today after going to bed way too late. Everything makes me want to cry today.

How to fall asleep faster: Move lots of shit up and down 3 flights of stairs after working an 8-hour work day. Doesn’t exactly keep you asleep all night — as you will see from my tweet at 3:30am this morning — but it feels good for like 4 hours.

Wow, this looks a mess. These widgets are never as easy as to use as advertised are they? I couldn’t take all the stupid warning text out :( Is there a way to do that Heather?

It’s been interesting trying to blog from the other side of the #insomniactreehouse. What do you call it when you still don’t really sleep - but you just go to bed and get up earlier than everyone else? 2:30 am is not a friendly time to be waking up.

At my second job yesterday I saw double-chocolate-chip muffins on sale for a dollar. Had they been able to last more than a day I would have swooped them up in a second. Good tip for looking for affordable muffins if you’re not in the mood to bake them yourself: Check out the discount rack at your local supermarket. Chances are the muffins actually aren’t really even close to going bad and you can put them in the fridge to extend their life … and they’re wicked cheap! (So, say you’re up at 3:00 am and you want a muffin … they’ll be available and you won’t feel quite so bad for not baking them) ;)
Also, #insomniactreehouse should start a #muffinbake division … I move we tackle each of these:

Ambience. It’s an iPhone app that helps me when I’m wound down enough to lie still. It’s undergone a lot of changes but all have been a huge improvement from one version to the next. I think it was 2.99 and it has been well worth it IMO. You can DL sounds ranging from traditional rainstorms and waves to an infinite number of static noises and weird ones like boiler room and busy city street (wouldn’t that stress a person out?) You can designate favorites and even make playlists. I usually put in my go to thunder storm sound “slow rolling thunder” and set a timer for 25min. If it works, when it stops I snap awake but can usually get back to sleep. It won’t run in the background though, so if you want to mess around with twitter or whatever while listening to the rainforests of Brazil, you can’t. You just have to set it and put the damned thing down for a minute. Anyway, for those of you with an iPhone I highly recommend Ambience. It may just do the trick.

could be helpful for the iPod touch too … i’ll have to give that a try!

plus, you shouldn’t be tweeting when trying to fall asleep anyway ;)
